The Cal Water H20 Challenge

The project our class and 65 other classes are working on is called The Cal Water H20 Challenge. The goal of the project is to come up with an idea that conserves water for the drought that we are in right now. Cal Water started this project to combat the severe drought that California is facing. The drought has already made an impact on the state of California, and the drought is only getting worse The class with the best idea wins a 3 day trip to the Channel Islands! Our class's goal is to come up with the best idea and help conserve water for the drought.

We have five different teams made up of our class working on the project. They are the Financiers, Researchers, Engineers, Designers, and Execution Specialists. If you want to learn more about the teams, just click on the team's page. Our class is Room 17 at Shasta Elementary. We have 32 kids in our class and we are definitley ready for this project. We are working on a rain saving device, that uses the gutter of our greenhouse to lead  water into 55 gallon barrels. The water is moved by pipes, where it is then sprayed on our plants. This conserves water by using rain water to water the plants.

The project is due February 27, 2015. We have already started working on the project, and by the time you read this we have already finished. This site was almost entirely made by the designer team from our class.  So this project was impossible without the design team. In simple words we owe them a big thank you.Thank you, for checking out our site.
